I'm between loads of laundry and the baby is napping... which means it's blogging time! Right now I'm watching it rain/hail/snow/whatever it feels like at the moment. I guess that's why they say all those things about March and lions... AZ doesn't have lions, just summertime 10 months out of the year. And still I miss it... but not the heat so much... I'm really digging this Idaho weather.
I've been so crazily productive today! I cleaned off the nightstand and Thomas' desk and put away all the crazy papers and cleaned up the baby's room and put away old clothes that don't fit her and old clothes that don't fit me anymore... (breathe)(breathe) AND I'm doing like 5 loads of laundry and I'm about to do some ironing that has been piling up and tidied up the house in general and rehearsed with one of my gals I accompany for and took out the trash and... (breathe)(breathe) lots of other stuff I probably already forgot involving dishes and poopy diapers. Whew! And I still have like half the day left! Wahoo!!! I love being productive... it's so amazingly wonderful! It makes me feel so powerful!
So we had an interesting experience last night. Well, actually I had an interesting experience this morning- Thomas wasn't around or conscious for this episode. But its so funny I had to make sure I made time to get on here and blog about it.
So... Audrey hasn't been sleeping too well lately, usually waking up every hour or two, just needing to know Mom was still kickin around. Last night was really bad- she wouldn't sleep unless I was holding her and it got to the point somewhere between 12 and 1am that I said- "I'm tired... I'll just get an hour's worth of sleep and then I'll wake up with her again." So I switched off the baby monitor and I set my alarm for an hour later. Next thing I know, I hear Thomas awake and getting dressed for the day, and I roll over and look at the clock- 7:00. I think, "wow, the baby sure slept well last night, I don't remember getting up much with her". I look over at Thomas and he says- "Hey, you turned off the baby monitor last night," and I blink a little, still rather groggy, and I said- "OH! yeah I guess I did..." and I remember my grand plans to wake up... and at first I felt really bad that I slept through my alarm and Thomas' alarm... and Thomas said something very wise about me really needing my sleep and she's gotta learn to sleep on her own sometime... and I felt better. So I (being extremely rested, having gotten 6 hours of consecutive sleep which hasn't happened since well before Christmas) decided to get up and say my prayers and read scriptures and be a good girl. I did go back to sleep for a little bit after that, and around 8:30 Audrey wakes up and skips the whimpering or babbling and goes straight for the screaming. So I jump up and skip into the baby's room to greet my darling child. WEEELLLL.... she survived the night on her own! But upon further examination, apparently somewhere in her thrashings and wailings that I didn't hear or witness, her diaper (which happened to be cloth this fortuitous night), lo and behold, has scooted down her bum a bit so that every time she peed it went all over her. So her pajama legs and bottom are all soaked, all the way through her jammies and swaddler and blankie and to the sheets. Because her jammie legs were all wet her legs and feet are all freezing! Poor baby! And as I peel her wet and cold clothing off her little legs I realize that the pee is not alone... apparently she also pooped during the night (which she has almost never done) and had to sit on that for who knows how long. I felt like a horrible mommy at first... but now I think it's so hilarious. And I had to call Thomas and tell him the story and he thought it was hilarious also. As of this moment Audrey has taken one three hour nap, and going on another hour's worth of naps. I think it's safe to say she's a little worn out. :)

Journals
I was doing the last post on our dating/marriage, and it made me go back to my old journals and look through the entries I wrote when we were dating. I used to be so good at writing almost every day, and I felt like I wrote such good entries, detailed enough and often enough. I'm able to read them and I'm totally taken back to those days, and I'm able to remember how it felt and what I did and how life was. I go further forward in them, after we were married and once I got pregnant, and I didn't write very much at all. Now I keep this blog and another journal here on my laptop, and I feel like there is so much I'm missing, that I'm not writing it all down. I take so many pictures, but I'm not sure I'm really capturing how my life is right now. My life is so wonderful, and it is so precious to me, and I really hope that I can look back, and my children can look back, and be able to remember and understand how life felt now, and what it was like, where I went, and the things I do. I'm going to try and be better at this. I LOVE my old journals, they were so amazing! I don't know if I can say that with my journal-writing habits as they are now. Something to work on.
Marriage Memory Tag
I got tagged by my good and wonderful friend Qait! and I thought this was fun, and the baby is napping, and I'm avoiding my messy kitchen... so here goes!
1. When is your "engagement" anniversary:
March 3, 2007- tomorrow is 2 years since then!
2. When is your "marriage" anniversary:
I'm with Qait- I'm not sure why marriage is in "quotations". But it's May 25, 2007.
3. How long have you known your spouse:
Since the end of August 2006, a couple weeks after he got home from his mission
4. How long did you date/court before you were engaged:
About 6 months or so. Our first date was on September 15, 2006 and we were engaged the following March.
5. Where did you meet your spouse for the first time?
At an institute class at MCC-Red Mountain in Mesa, AZ. We were in the same class, and we had a mutual friend who we both ended up talking to, and then the mutual friend had to leave, so we sat and talked for a while. Ended up with tons of my friends all over the institute chairs talking and laughing at this amazingly funny guy. He thought my friend was hotter than me and wanted to date her, but then she was all anti-social/dating so he decided I was cool too. ;) I'm teasing- he just was more interested in her at first. Then he got to know me and my sparkling personality!
6. What is your spouse's full name:
Thomas Richard Scott- after a combination of many relatives
7. Do you have any children:
yes!
8. How many - boys/girls:
one darling baby girl- she is already 5 1/2 months and I can't believe it.
9. Do you have any house pets:
nope
10. Do you own a house or rent:
We own a lovely little double-wide (it really is lovely)
11. Do you live in the country or town/city:
Rexburg is... not a city. One street past our house and it's all fields from there on.
12. What is one of your favorite activities together:
Anything- as long as we're together. We love playing Squid, a card game we learned from friends in AZ but they couldn't remember the name, so Thomas and I, after months of playing it together, got tired of not having a name for it so we decided Squid was a good name. We also really like Cribbage and going on drives at night out around the edges of town and just talking. But we always have fun together.
13. Do you have a favorite vacation spot:
We've not gone on very many vacations, as our family is young, but we've been to Mexico and would LOVE to go back sometime, and Thomas is in love with Yellowstone and the fact that it is like an hour and a half from our house.
14. When did you first kiss?
October 16- Thomas had never kissed a girl and he promised himself this Monday evening that he wouldn't go back inside his house until he had kissed me- and it took him like 45 minutes, but he did it. It was sweet.
15. What church do you attend?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
16. Is this the church you were married in:
We were married in the Mesa AZ temple! I miss it!
17. What town is your current address at:
Rexburgia
18. Do you work or stay at home:
I do both- I am a full-time mother and wife but I also accompany for voice lessons on campus at BYU-I and I also own my own business as an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay!
19. Where did you go on your honeymoon:
San Fransicso! So fun! It was so amazing and we just had the best time seeing so many beautiful things.
20.What was the funniest gift you gave when dating?
hmmm... Our favorite one to remember is probably Christmas 2006 while we were dating- Thomas spent all this money and got me wonderful, thoughtful, useful gifts like a bluetooth headset for my cell phone, a beautiful white gold chain for my Young Women's medallion and such, and I did this cute, thoughtful little assortment of gifts that told him things I loved about him and such, since he was soon to go away. He didn't really appreciate it when I gave it to him- honestly he was rather disappointed, because he likes getting big, expensive presents as he was used to from his family. But after he left for BYU-Idaho the next semester he really enjoyed wearing the mittens I got him to remind him how I loved walking holding his hand, and the glow-in-the-dark stars I gave him to remind him how we loved looking at the stars, etc.
21.How long have you been together?
We met at the end of August 2006, so...like 2 1/2 years now.
22. How long did you know each other before you started dating?
We met at the end of August, and we "officially" started dating on October 20th, but our first date was the 15th of September. We were holding hands before we actually decided we were official. Our first kiss was before we decided we were official. Actually, I suppose we should say before Thomas admitted we were official, and said "ok, let's do it! We're dating!"
23. Who asked who out?
Thomas asked me.
24. How old are each of you?
I am... 22? yes, 22, and Thomas is 23.
25.Where did each work or go to school?
When we were dating I was going to ASU and working for a family law attorney, and Thomas was working at Allstate and taking a couple classes through MCC before he went back to BYU-Idaho.
26. Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
Life is hard, this we know- but we always get through it together.
27. Did you go to the same school?
No- just institute together.
28. Are you from the same home town?
We both grew up in Mesa, just a few miles from each other. We actually were in the same room at one point growing up- Thomas and my step-brother had the same Court of Honor for their Eagle Scout awards and we were all there. But I never met him until after his mission. We have lots of random connections- like a girl that Thomas dated I knew well in college and I remember when she got engaged, and she wrote to him to tell him that she was getting married and not waiting.
29. Who is smarter?
It depends on what it is, I think. Thomas knows lots of things I don't, but I have a few random factoids/words of wisdom I pull out occasionally.
30. Who is more sensitive?
We have both learned to be sensitive to each other. Thomas is very sensitive to scratches on his yellow car paint job, and I'm very sensitive to noises made while the baby is sleeping. :)
31.Where do you eat out most as a couple?
We don't eat out very often at all- the last time we did go out was for Valentine's day and it was the first time we'd gone out to a sit-down place, just the two of us (well plus baby now I suppose) in a VERY long time.
32. Where is the farthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
We've been to Mexico, to Grover,Wyoming, now up here in Rexburg.
33.Who has the craziest exes?
I'm the only one with exes "officially", and mine are probably more interesting.
34. Who has the worse temper?
I don't think either of us really have a bad temper. We get snippy now and then- and I'm definitely the more emotional of us... so it is probably me.
35. Who does the cooking?
Usually I do, and I'm proud that I'm getting better at this, but Thomas is actually a very good cook and he will cook for us sometimes on weekends when he has time.
36. Who is more social?
Thomas definitely- however I've made large strides of my own in that area since we've been married
37. Who is the neat-freak?
definitely me, but it stresses Thomas out when things are messy too.
38. Who is more stubborn?
I think we can both be stubborn when put to it, but Thomas usually wins because I'm nice like that. ;D
39. Who hogs the bed?
Thomas hogs the bed, I hog the sheets.
40. Who wakes up earlier?
it depends- sometimes Thomas gets up early to do homework, but I'm sometimes up before him with the baby.
41. Where was your first date?
We saw the new (at the time)Joseph Smith movie at the temple and sat on a bench and talked for a while afterwards, and then we went to this little Mexican place on Country Club and Main and ate. It was great.
42.Who had more boyfriends/girlfriends?
Me
43. Do you get flowers often?
Not very often, only for special occasions or to cheer me up when I'm sad. I like when he brings home live plants actually better- because they last longer! The last one he brought home was a little pot of Mums, and they are still living several months later.
44. How do you spend the holidays?
together! A lot of times cleaning and catching up on housework. Or Thomas works, and then it's not really any different.
45. Who is more jealous?
I don't think we have a jealousy thing... I think the last time I was jealous was when we were dating and I wasn't sure how this one girl felt about Thomas... and actually that was before we were "official".
46. How long did it take to get serious?
We progressed gradually, I think it was a great pace for us. When he went off to Rexburg it made us really realize how we felt about each other. Long distance... make or break a relationship!
47. Who eats more?
Hmmm... it used to be Thomas but now I think it's definitely me... I blame pregnancy/nursing.
48. Who does the laundry
Usually me, but Thomas does it occasionally on the weekends! Like this weekend! Except I get to fold it and put it away... hopefully today...
49. Who’s better with the computer?
Uh... depends on what it is?
50. Leave a piece of advice for the other couples.
Truly love each other, and don't be proud- let the other person be right, no matter how many times you think you were right and he wasn't.
1. When is your "engagement" anniversary:
