Three-bite rule
Realized I forgot one thing I wanted to say- something Dr. Agatston talked about in his book that I loved was his three-bite rule for desserts. He says that if you want dessert, you should have it. But only eat three bites. Eat them very slowly, and then be done. You end up just as satisfied but without the guilt of eating a whole piece of cake, or slice of pie or whatever. I tried it and it SO works. It satisfies my craving for something sweet without overdoing it. I really like those little tidbits he talks about, things that I can do without following every part of his diet. Just to help us eat healthier.

Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI'm not converted, but not because I think it won't work...
I like my millions of bites. X( I know! I'm terrible! My metabolism won't always keep up with me!
I think I'll try it, though, sometimes. Those times when I suspect I'm not eating from true hunger (or true need of chocolate, which is valid).
Oh I agree with the need for chocolate rule... totally valid! I just block out that whole week ahead of time every month so I don't even feel guilty about it! :)
