Day 2 of toddlerlessness

Today was wonderful. I spent most of the day reading The Hunger Games trilogy. I'm about halfway through the third one- definitely a huge fan. Can't wait to see how it ends! Ethan LOVES having all my attention and not having to share it with Audrey all day. He seems to have a rough time whenever he starts to get tired. He gets a little tired, his mouth hurts and he refuses to eat, but he can't fall asleep because usually he falls asleep while nursing. He won't take a bottle or anything either. Poor kid fell asleep sucking his thumb in his bassinet tonight cuz he wouldn't eat anything. His wet/dirty diapers are still doing fine, though I don't know how. He must be getting more efficient during the time he does spend nursing. He hates anything but breastmilk so far- not a fan of formula and he hates taking medicine.

My house is blissfully clean. I love it! I know it won't last when Audrey comes home, but I don't mind. It's nice to have it clean for a few days. I also made, refried and froze some beans today. It's strange only cooking for one. But kind of fun cuz I can pick whatever I want to eat without stressing whether Audrey will eat it or if Thomas will like it.

I'm pretty much finished with preparations for the Sacrament Meeting Program in November. I just have to make up a seating chart and do some last-minute tweaking as kids come and go from primary. I know there will be some changes to make in the next two months.

some pics to enjoy!

Messy hairs!

Making faces

We got to play with Carter and Connor Baker a couple weeks ago. They had so much fun!

  1. A good book I've read recently about helping babies sleep is "Good Night, Sleep Tight: The Sleep Lady's Gentle Guide to Helping Your Child Go to Sleep, Stay Asleep and Wake Up Happy" by Kim West. Maybe you would find it helpful, too.

Yay for a clean house and yummy food in the freezer!

  2. Caleb is having the same lovely problems with teething. Not fun! Have you tried giving Ethan any baby food yet? A lot of times when I can't get Caleb to nurse he will eat some baby food at least. I don't know if it really makes him feel better but it makes me feel like he isn't starving! Good luck!
