The Trouble with Teething

I think 4 months is way too early to begin serious teething. Audrey started "teething" at around 3 months, but that was pretty much just drooling and gnawing on things. This kid is full-fledged super-grumpy, biting, screaming teething. My saving grace is that he sleeps 8-9 hours at night (knock on wood). He doesn't nap much anymore. Occasionally we get 20 minutes of peace and quiet, but, the poor dear doesn't want to eat, can't sleep, tylenol barely takes the edge off it for him. Has to be held while standing up... *sigh*. I'm just tired... and venting. I really do have wonderful children. I'm looking forward to a little break this week and next week. Thomas and Audrey are AZ-bound on Wednesday and will come home on Sunday. So it will just be me and the little man for a few days. Then next week it's our turn to head to AZ! We are so excited to see family and friends! Part of me is sad that we aren't all going down at the same time... but part of me is glad too. This will be a little easier to orchestrate and will give us a break from two children screaming at the same time. I'm getting a little frazzled these days. :/

I really don't want to sound like I'm complaining- I realize that my children are so good. I really do have well-behaved kids. Ethan can't help that he doesn't feel well when he is teething. Audrey is two- she acts like a two year old. But she listens fairly well.

Well my 5 minutes of quiet is up. :) Adventures in Mommy-hood!

  1. I understand your sentiments. Good kids are good, but teething makes good kids not as fun.

  2. Amen.
What a good daddy to take Audrey so you have some nearly-alone time! :)
It's true...mommyhood just has days (and weeks/months) like that. :\
